2024 UPPER MIDWEST GOLDEN GLOVES CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT

Dates: Semi Finals: Saturday, April 13th, weigh-in/medical 4pm Sharp, bouts 7:30pm
Finals: Sunday, April 14th, weigh-in/medical 9am, bouts noon
Boxers Qualifications
WEIGHTS:
Weight classes apply to Novice and Elite Boxers. Only Elite boxers will advance to the National Golden Gloves. Twenty (20) weight classes will be contested at the National Tournament. Non-citizens of the US are eligible to compete in the 2024 Regional and National Tournaments.
MALE: 112, 125, 132, 139, 147, 156, 165, 176, 203, 203+
FEMALE: 110, 119, 125, 132, 139, 146, 154, 165, 178, 178+
BOXER AGE REQUIREMENTS:
Boxers ages 18 thru 40 are eligible to participate. All boxers must be at lease 18 years of age on January 1, 2024, but not yet 41 before May 18, 2024.
BOUT REQUIREMENTS:
OPEN boxers must have a total of ten (10) bouts listed in Matchtracker to register for the UMGG Regional tournaments. Novice boxers 0-9 bouts. Elite boxers will box 3/3’s, Novice will box 3/2’s.
ACCOMODATIONS:
Open boxers and designated Regional Coaches (by Regional Director) will be provided a shared room. If you are looking for additional rooms, Boxers host hotel is Quality Inn & Suites-Brainerd/Baxter 2115 S. 6th St. Building A, Brainerd, MN 56401

MISCELLANEOUS:
Uniforms: We HIGHLY suggest that boxers have a blue and red uniform for this tournament. This is not required. Please refer to the attached documents for restrictions on uniforms.
Boxing Equipment: ONLY OPEN FACE USA Boxing Approved headgear will be allowed.
All boxers must be clean shaven for this advancing tournament.
Boxers that do not box in the Upper Midwest Tournament at Grand Casino will need a .4% ratio of win to loss boxing record for the UMGG to pay travel and accommodations to the National Golden Gloves Tournament.
National Golden Gloves will be held in Detroit May11th – May 19th, 2024. Boxer’s must arrive in Detroit by Saturday, May 11th, 2024.
Registration
Boxers must compete in their regional tournament to advance to the UMGG Championship tournament that advances to the Golden Gloves National Tournament.
Registration for Regional/ Championship Tournaments begin Monday, February 5th, 2024, and ends Monday, February 26th, 2024, at 7pm central standard time. Both Novice and Open Boxers must register online for this tournament. Make sure all information is uploaded to your 2024 membership card.

OFFICIALS will receive an invite to the tournament and will be provided lodging at Arrow Wood Lodge, Brainerd, MN. Officials that do not receive an invite are welcome to participate and will be responsible for their own lodging and travel expenses.
